For 2008 my lote subject was French. French this year, I found that it was one of the subjects that I had enjoyed a lot. I had learnt many new things during this year's French classes and had also deepened my knowledge on things that I had learnt last year as well. For this year's portfolio I would like to show you: My French Fashion powerpoint about my chosen french fashion designer and My mermorised and mini drama play script for my speaking test in term 3.

Emma: Bonjour Aline, il fait chaud aujourd’hui. Je peux tu aider?
Angela : Bonjour Emma, sa va?
E : Très Bien merci,
A: Oui peut-être, est –ce que tu as des avocats ?
E: Oui, nous en avons beaucoup et ils ne sont pas très chers, seulement cent francs la pièce.
A : J’en prends deux, merci, et avez-vous des poivrons?
E : Oui bien sûr, combien tu en veux?
A : J’en veux deux s’il tu plais. C’est combien?
E : C’est ……….
Francs les deux. Il vous faut autre chose ?
A : Oui est-ce que tu as du miel?
E : Non je suis désolée, essaye au supermarché.
A : Honte! Tes fruit et légumes sont les meilleurs.
E : Merci!!! Tu portes un beau collier aujourd’hui !
A : Oh, mon collier est très simple.
E : Simple et très élégant!
A : Je voudrais des fruits….. (wait) Tu as trois bananas, un ananas, des mandarines, un melon et des letchis ?
E : Oui bien sûr, voici l’ananas, combien tuiles-tu de
mandarines?
A : Deux s’il tu plais.
E : Voici le melon et combien de letchis ?
A : Un kilo je pense.
E : Tu fais une salade de fruits ?
A : Oui j’ai invité Jean et mes amis pour déjeuner demain.
E : Qu’est que tu cuisines?
A : Des spécialités de Nouvelle Calédonie, avocat avec des poivrons et un bougna.
E : C’est délicieux !!
A : Oui c’est mon plat préfère.
E : C’est tout ?
A : Non, je voudrais aussi huit pommes de terre, quatre pommes de terre douces cinq tomates, six gousses d’ail et un oignon.
E : Pour le bougna ? Ce sera tout ?
A : Oui merci, combien je te dois ?
E : (calulating) et bien ça fera ……….. cent francs.
A : Oh c’est cher! Ca ne devrait pas être aussi cher. (it shouldn’t be that dear)
E : Attendes, je recompte ………….. ah oui en effet, il y a une erreur. J’ai compté deux oignons au
lieu d’un. Désolée, ça fait ………… francs.
A : Entendu, je tu remercie a bientôt!
E : Merci, Au revoir. Mon bonjour à Jean!
A: Naturellement au revoir.

Name: French (LEAP) Item: French Fashion Desginer Powerpoint
Term completed: Term 2
Description:
In French during term 2, I was learning about clothing; like shoes, shirts etc. and one of term's 4 assement was a 2-3 mins speech about a famous french fashion designer. But the speech is basically ment to be memorized, however some palm cards were allowed. The famous french designer which I had chosen to do this assement was Yves Saint Laurent. During this speech I had to talk about my french designer (like the age, when he started in the fashion industry etc.), his fashion styles, fashion products (perfumes, clothing etc), and had to describe 3 models from his latest collection. But after the speech, Mandam Laimer would ask us some questions from our speech and the powerpoint prepared.
Why I chose this piece of work?
I chose this piece of work becasue I felt that during this speech, and during the process of the work, I had really accomplished something new and challenging for me. This piece of work has really shown me that I have really imporved since I had started learning French in grade 4 and was struggling in it during that time. But now I am able to have a full 2-3 mins french speech about a fashion designer, mostly memorizing it and to be able to speak more fluently in french
What I learnt from this?
What I have learnt from this piece of assement is; to be able to improve my speaking lanugage in French by making sure I had understood what I was trying to talk about, and my writing skills in French as I was able to compare the structure of a sentance from last year and this assement and there was really a big improvement.

Term completed: Term 3
Description:
In french during term 3, I one of the topics that I was learning about was foods. We learnt how to say, write and put into different sentances of the many different types of vegetables, fruits, meats and drinks. One of the assement for this term was a speaking/ oral. But this assement had to be done with a partner, and my partner was Emma. We had to choose either one of us was student A and the other B, Student A was the student that had to act as the shopper while student B was the shop owner. We had to create a dialogue between the two people but at the same time reaching the requirements, which were; greatings, using est-ce que (Is it that), saying what is available/ isn't avaiable using the verb avoir (to have) and the correct forms of de la/ du/ del'/ des/ de, by using gestures to show expressions, asking/ giving the price of an item, a complaint about the price, as if there more/ if that's all and to say goodbye.
Why I chose to piece of work?
I had chosen this piece of work becasue I was really proud with my results of this assement and I had really taken another step from my previous speaking assement in term 2. My result was A but this was the first time I had gotten an A for speaking in this subject. But this piece of work had really shown my improvement since the last speaking test which had taken place in term 2. Instead of just memorising some parts of my speech like I did in term 2, this time I had to memorise my whole SPEECH !!! However, I felt really proud after doing this piece of assement. ^^
What I learn from this?
What I had learnt from this piece of assement, is to always try your hardest everytime and to overcome all challenges as after all that hardwork you would achieve the results that you wanted. This is because I have always been trying my hardest with my speeches each year and been geting bs, but after each speaking assement I would always try to improve on the things that could have been done better, and for the results I had gotten an A in the end.
